HOW TO GROW SUNSTRIPE COURGETTE FROM SEEDS

You can sow your courgette seeds in fine seed compost in seven cm pots and plant them later. It would be best if you planted each seed about one centimeter deep. Depending on how quickly you want them to grow, you can water them and put them in a propagator or a warm, south-facing windowsill. Courgettes can also be grown in an unheated greenhouse or polytunnel but must be protected from frost damage at night with fleece.

CARE AFTER GERMINATION OF COURGETTE

When the seed is germinating, keep the compost moist but do not overwater. Put good quality multipurpose compost in 12cm pots. Make a hole in the compost in the large pot about the size of the smaller 7cm pot. Plant the seedling in the hole you made. Pack compost around the roots tightly to create a tight seal. You should water well and keep the plant indoors for a week or two. Keep the fleece on at night to be on the safe side.
