HOW TO GROW WHITE COSMOS DOUBLE FROM SEEDS
Seedling trays or small pots should be filled with compost, seeds of high quality, or sieved seeds. If the compost is too soft, you can firm it up lightly with a piece of lumber or your hand. You should sow the seeds directly on the compost surface, one per cell if possible. A small pinch of seeds should be placed in each cell, followed by a centimeter-thick layer of compost or vermiculite, moistened with water, drained, and labeled. Alternatively, it can be covered with a plastic bag or placed in a heated propagator. Seedlings with two pairs of leaves should be transplanted into separate pots.
CARE FOR WHITE COSMOS DOUBLE AFTER GERMINATION
The soil does not need to be prepared for Cosmos. Instead, they prefer soil that is not too rich since rich soil will promote foliage rather than blooms. It is also essential that the soil drains well. Cosmos can tolerate hot and dry weather. They are drought-tolerant. They self-seed easily. Because these plants are tall, staking may be necessary in some cases. Planting them against a fence can also provide support. Cosmos will produce fewer flowers if you over-water or over-fertilize them. Be careful not to overwater.
USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF WHITE COSMOS DOUBLE
You can never have too many pollinators and predator insects in your garden that help manage pests and pollinate your plants. For pollination and feeding on pest insects, Cosmos flowers attract beneficial insects, including lacewings, parasitic wasps, tachinid flies, and hoverflies. Cosmos bipinnatus is the most common species in the Cosmos family, but it is not considered edible. Growing it around children and pets is safe since it doesn't harm them in any way.
