HOW TO GROW YELLOW COSMOS FROM SEEDS
With compost, you can sow the seeds in seedling trays or small pots. Soften the compost by rubbing it with a block of wood or your hand. The seeds should be sown directly on top of the compost, one seed per cell if possible. Add a pinch of seeds to each cell, cover with a centimetre-thick layer of compost or vermiculite, moisten the compost with water, and drain. The propagator can heat the seeds, or a plastic bag can be used to protect them. Transplant the seedlings into separate pots once they have two leaves.
CARE FOR YELLOW COSMOS AFTER GERMINATION
Cosmos does not require so much soil preparation. A rich soil will produce more foliage than blooms, so they prefer a soil that is not too rich. Drainage is also important to them. Yellow Cosmos flower can tolerate hot, dry weather. They can even withstand drought. The plants self-sow throughout your garden. Staking is sometimes required due to the height of these plants. To provide support, you can also grow your baby plants against a fence. Cosmos will produce fewer flowers if they are overwatered or overfertilized. Don't drown your plants in water.
USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF YELLOW COSMOS
Pollinators and predator insects pollinate your plants, and controlling pests in your garden is never enough. Beneficial insects that feed on pest insects and pollinate cosmos flowers include lacewings, parasitic wasps, tachinid flies, and hoverflies. One of the most familiar members of the Cosmos family, Cosmos bipinnatus, is not edible. Neither children nor pets can be harmed by this product, so they can grow around it freely.
