HOW TO GROW NASTURTIUM SEEDS

You can start the seeds indoors in a pot. The seeds can be started indoors if you're looking for bigger plants and quicker blooms. Because they are large seeds, we suggest starting with a relatively large, 15cm or 10 cm seed starting pot. Each pot should have two seeds diameter of 2.5 cm and should be placed under lights or in a sunny location, such as a south-facing window. It takes about 10 to 12 days for nasturtiums to germinate. Prune out the weaker seedling, leaving just one per pot, when the seedlings have several sets of leaves. The next step is to know what to do once the seeds have germinated.


CARE AFTER GERMINATION OF NASTURTIUM

In dry weather, it's essential to keep Nasturtiums hydrated since they are relatively carefree and easy to grow. They do well in containers and window boxes. Do not allow the soil to dry out completely between waterings. To keep these plants blooming throughout the summer, use liquid fertilizer regularly. The top edge of the pot must be buried to prevent soil moisture from wicking away from the seedling. Nasturtium perennials can reach a height of up to three meters.

Like watercress, Nasturtium flowers are edible and taste peppery. In salads or as a garnish, any color and variety are delicious. Leaves can be eaten, too. The leaves and flowers are edible and taste like garden cress. Nasturtium petals and leaves are both packed with nutrients, containing high levels of vitamin C. It can improve the immune system, tackling sore throats, coughs, and colds, as well as bacterial and fungal infections.
