HOW TO GROW YELLOW SWEET PEPPER FROM SEEDS

Over 18 degrees celsius is the optimal temperature for pepper seeds to germinate. Seeds can be sown individually in cell trays filled with quality seed compost, covered lightly, and placed in the propagator. Make sure the compost is moist without becoming soggy. After the seedlings have grown two true leaves, remove the seedlings from the propagator to a warm, light, frost-free environment. Germination should take place within two weeks at this temperature. A weak feed will be beneficial to the young seedlings at this stage.

CARE FOR YELLOW SWEET PEPPER AFTER GERMINATION

Your young seedlings will benefit from being potted on fresh compost after they have grown beyond two true leaves. Incorporate slow-release fertilizer into compost if it is available in 9cm pots. As they grow, pot them into their final growing container once they are about 20 cm tall. Pepper plants are best grown in large containers for ease of maintenance. A minimum diameter of 30cm is recommended. You can stake the plants with a cane to provide them with some support. After fruiting, place the plant back in a warm, light position and keep frost-free once more.

USES AND BENEFITS OF YELLOW SWEET PEPPER

Raw or cooked, sweet peppers are delicious. Add them to dips or salads, or serve them as an appetizer. As well as braises, casseroles, tomato sauces, and stuffed casseroles, you can prepare them this way. Sweet Yellows peppers can be added to soups, omelets, tofu, stews, brochettes, pizza, rice, and pasta. They contain many vitamins and antioxidants, especially vitamin C and various carotenoids. Therefore, they may have several health benefits, including improving eye health and reducing the risk of chronic diseases. Including bell peppers in one's diet is a good idea.
