HOW TO GROW SPINACH FROM SEEDS
Growing Spinach from seeds is very easy. Drills 1.5 cm deep and 30 cm apart must be sown very thinly with the seed. It takes 12-20 days for the seed to germinate. When seedlings are large enough to handle thin to one every 7cm and then again three weeks later, to one every 15cm, you can eat the thinnings when the micro-leaf and baby leaf stages are present. Alternatively, you can start in early spring when the soil temperature is over 14 degrees Celsius. Plant-heavy seeds every 10-14 days in mid-to-late summer, at 30 seeds per foot, for fall harvest.
CARE AFTER GERMINATION OF SPINACH
Ensure the plants are well hydrated during dry times to prevent bolting. You should regularly pick your leaves to ensure new growth and healthy leaves. The best-growing conditions are fertile soil amended with compost or well-rotted manure—plant in autumn and cover with mulch to provide a spring harvest. You can either start them inside or transplant them later, but they are not recommended. The plants do not require much care, so you can begin to them outdoors and harvest them after one or two months.
