HOW TO GROW MILK THISTLE FROM SEEDS
Milk thistle seeds should be sown outside about a half-inch deep in either March or April to bloom during the summer. You will only need three to four seeds per hole if each hole is spaced about three feet apart. You can thin the weakest plants after they germinate, which should take between 10 and 20 days. The seeds of milk thistle can be planted in seed trays filled with potting soil, then covered with a soft layer of soil when grown indoors. The tray will need to remain in an area that remains at 18 degrees celsius and then watered daily until the germination of the seeds occurs.
CARE FOR MILK THISTLE AFTER GERMINATION
The milk thistle is a hardy plant that grows well in various environments but prefers high temperatures and dry conditions. A well-draining soil is the only requirement for milk thistle. It is recommended to space the plants 30-38 cm apart as it grows in clumps. Milk thistle prefers dry conditions and is extremely drought tolerant. Watering milk thistle should not be necessary unless very extreme drought conditions exist. To increase the seed production of milk thistle, you can fertilize this plant with nitrogen and potassium.
USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF MILK THISTLE
Skin health may be improved with milk thistle. According to a 2015 study, it helped treat inflammatory skin conditions when applied to mice's skin. According to another study, milk thistle also had antioxidant and anti-aging effects on human skin cells in a laboratory setting. According to some studies, milk thistle can slow the skin's aging process because it is antiglycation. The bridges between protein and sugar are what make skin supple. These start to break down around age 30 and increase steadily as you age.
