HOW TO GROW FROM SEEDS HERB RUE RUTA

It grows best in sunny, hot locations and partial shade as well. The soil should be well-draining and of medium quality. During the growing season, Rue can be propagated via cuttings and also from seeds. You can start your Rue seeds indoors 3 to 4 weeks before the last spring frost by planting them under lights or in a sunny window. After the previous frost threat has passed, direct-sow or transplant seedlings outside. It is best to make soil from aged compost and a few handfuls of sand. Despite Rue's light feeding habits, compost or an all-purpose fertilizer will assist it in getting started.

CARE FOR GERMINATION OF RUE RUTA

When it comes to triggering germination, 68°F is the sweet spot. In most cases, germination takes place in seven to twenty days. Seeds should be kept moist until they germinate, and seedlings and transplants should also be kept moist until they've developed roots. Watering Rue plants at the bottom or with intermittent drip irrigation is best. After the indoor seedlings reach a size where they can be handled, transplant them into pots and grow them. After the last frost is expected, plant them out into their permanent positions in late spring or early summer. It will be ideal if the place is in full sun, with fertile soil that is not too wet. Allow 30 cm between objects.

CARE AFTER GERMINATION OF RUE RUTA

It is important to water regularly but does not drown the soil. It requires little maintenance to grow Rue. It can be pruned back to just above its woody base in spring or fall after it has finished flowering. It would help if you deadheaded rue blooms since they reseed themselves. The trimmed bases of rue plants need to be mulched in areas where it is colder in winter to keep it from freezing. The yellow flowers of this evergreen bush are highly aromatic. Leafy greens can be added to sandwiches and salads when finely chopped.
