HOW TO GROW SILK TREE FROM SEEDS
Make a soil mixture by mixing equal parts sand and potting soil. Punch drainage holes in the bottom of some drinking cups about three inches tall. Then fill them with soil. The seeds will be hard, brown, and bean-like. You will get healthy seeds from Garden Paradise Seeds easily. Put the seeds in a bowl and submerge them in boiling water. The seeds should be left overnight to scarify and improve germination. You should plant one seed approximately one inch deep in each cup after the seeds have been freshly treated. Place the seed in the soil mixture and lightly water it. Repeat this for as many seeds as you want.
CARE FOR SILK TREE AFTER GERMINATION
To encourage germination, warm places are needed. Do not let the soil become wet. Two to three weeks after germination, look for signs of growth on the silk tree seeds. Transplant each seedling into a larger pot once it has three to four leaves. They can even tolerate a short period of drought if they are kept moist with just the right amount of water. Covering the tree with two inches of mulch will protect it from the weather and moisten the soil. Your tree does not need to be watered if you're getting regular rainfall. Silk trees can grow in various soil types and tolerate drought.
