HOW TO GROW RED ONION FROM SEEDS

It is best to start onion seeds indoors eight to ten weeks before your last frost. Ideally, the containers should be about 4 inches deep and have plenty of drainage holes. Then, fill your container with seed starting mix, sprinkle the seeds evenly over the soil, mist with water, and cover with 1/8-inch seed starting mix. Press down gently to ensure the seeds have contact with the moist soil.

CARE AFTER GERMINATION OF RED ONION

Remove the humidity dome once the seeds have sprouted, and place them under lights in a cool place. Make sure the soil is evenly moist. Every two weeks drink water diluted with fish emulsion or compost tea. Make certain the onion seedlings are about 3 inches tall by trimming the tops with scissors. They will tolerate cool temperatures in the spring. They will be ready for harvesting in a few months!

RED ONION USAGE AND HEALTH BENEFITS

Onions are a familiar ingredient. Adding red onions to beef or veggie burgers or tomatoes and cucumbers to salads looks and tastes great. As a result of the sulfur compounds found in red onions, the body is protected against ulcers and various forms of cancer. Red onions can also use them to protect against urinary tract bacteria. Among its anti-oxidant compounds are compounds that can protect against cancer, heart disease, and allergies.
