HOW TO GROW MIX TYPE COSMOS CUP FLOWER FROM SEEDS

Plant cosmos seeds in cell packs or flats for four to six weeks before transplanting them into the garden. In seven to twenty days, seedlings emerge at 20° c to 25° c. After all frost hazards are past, direct sow cosmos into prepared seed beds in rows, 4-6 seeds per foot. Seedlings should be spaced 12 to 15 inches apart. Fertility-average soils with moderate water content produce the best flowers. Cosmos can withstand drought, heat, and poor soil conditions. You can remove spent blooms to promote additional flowers. When some spent blossoms are left on plants, Cosmos will usually self-sow.

CARE FOR MIXED COSMOS CUP AFTER GERMINATION

The soil does not need to be prepared for Cosmos. As a result, they prefer not to grow in too rich soil because rich soil will promote foliage instead of blooms. It is also essential that the soil drains well. Cosmos thrive in hot, dry weather. It is also drought-tolerant. This plant will self-seed in your garden. Because these plants are tall, staking may be necessary in some cases. They can likewise be grown against a fence for support. Overwatering or overfertilizing your cosmos may lead to fewer flowers. Make sure you water your plants regularly, but not excessively.

USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF MIXED COSMOS CUP

Pollinators and predator insects help manage pests and pollinate your plants, and you can never have enough of them in your garden. Among the insects that pollinate and consume pest insects are lacewings, parasitic wasps, tachinid flies, and hoverflies. Cosmos bipinnatus, the most common species in the Cosmos family, should not be eaten. Since the plant is not harmful to children or pets, it is safe for them to be around.
