HOW TO GROW GRAPES FROM SEEDS
Remove any pulp or other matter from the viable seeds by thoroughly washing them. Take them home and soak them in a small amount of distilled water for up to 24 hours. Many seeds need a period of cold, moist conditions to germinate. Seeds sit in the ground over the winter to achieve this in nature. By stratifying seeds, you can mimic these conditions. Plant the seeds in pots filled with good soil in early spring after being removed from the refrigerator. Plant seeds individually in small pots, or plant them in larger pots that are at least an inch deep.
CARE FOR GRPAEVINES AFTER GERMINATION
After your seedlings have grown to about 8 cm, transplant them into 10 cm pots. To grow the healthiest plants, grow seedlings inside or in a greenhouse until the plants are 25 cm tall, have a good root system, and have at least five leaves. Grapevines require the right amount of sun, proper drainage, and a means of support to thrive. Ensure that the location is sunny. A grapevine needs 7-8 hours of direct sunlight per day. Provide enough space. It is recommended that you space your plants about 2.5 m apart to allow for growth.
USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF GRAPES
A good source of potassium is grapes, a mineral that helps balance fluids in your body. Your risk of heart disease and stroke can be lowered by consuming potassium. Grapes are a good source of this nutrient, which is in short supply among most people. Grapes contain compounds that may prevent high cholesterol levels by decreasing cholesterol absorption. In an eight-week study, three cups of red grapes per day lowered total and LDL (harmful) cholesterol levels in 69 people with high cholesterol.
