HOW TO GROW YELLOW AFRICAN MARIGOLD FROM SEEDS
It requires full to partial sun and well-drained soil for white African marigolds to thrive. This flower can also be grown in containers. Remove all weeds and grass six weeks before you plant by tilling the soil approximately six inches deep. Consider adding compost for more nutrients. Scatter seeds over the garden as soon as it is no longer frosty. You can start seeds indoors four to six weeks before the last frost of the season if you wish. Seeds germinate between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius in one to two weeks.
CARE FOR YELLOW AFRICAN MARIGOLDS AFTER GERMINATION
Due to their ability to withstand heat and drought, African marigolds bloom best in summer and autumn. However, they prefer moist, well-draining soil rather than clay or dry soil. Keep the soil moist but not wet by watering regularly. Keep an eye out for puddles of water or muddy patches six hours after watering. You are at risk of drowning your flowers if your soil does not drain. You can prevent stem damage by deadheading or removing spent blooms during the summer and early autumn.
USES AND BENEFITS OF YELLOW AFRICAN MARIGOLD
In addition to treating sores, ulcers, eczema, conjunctivitis, rheumatism, and sore eyes, African marigolds are also effective in treating sore throats. Externally, the leaves can be used to treat boils, carbuncles, and earaches. The flower is diuretic, carminative, and vermifuge. Colds and mumps can be treated with decoctions of this herb. To prepare marjoram tea, dry the flowers and brew them. To allow the petals to be dried at a low temperature and then dried at a low temperature, mix a tablespoon of dried flowers into boiled water before steeping the tea.
