HOW TO GROW RED COSMOS TALL FLOWER FROM SEEDS
With compost, good quality seeds, or sieved seeds, sow seeds in seedling trays or small pots. You can firm up the compost by using a block of wood or by using your hands. Directly sowing seeds onto the compost surface is best, one per cell, if possible. Put a small pinch of seeds into each cell, cover with a one-centimeter thick layer of compost or vermiculite, moisten the compost with water, and drain. You can cover it with a plastic bag or place it in a heated propagator. Transplant the seedlings into separate pots as soon as they have two leaves.
CARE FOR RED COSMOS FLOWER AFTER GERMINATION
A rich soil will produce more foliage than blooms, so they prefer not to be overly rich. A well-draining soil is also essential. This flower can withstand hot, dry weather. You can self-sow these plants throughout your garden. Due to the height of these plants, staking may be necessary in some cases. To support your baby plants, you can also grow them against a fence. Overwatering and overfertilizing will cause your Cosmos to produce fewer flowers. Keep your plants moist but don't drown them.
USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS OF RED COSMOS
Predatory insects pollinate your plants, and managing pests in your garden is never enough. Cosmos flowers attract beneficial insects such as lacewings, parasitic wasps, tachinid flies, and hoverflies that pollinate and eat pest insects. Cosmos bipinnatus, the most familiar member of the Cosmos family, does not seem to be edible. It is safe for children and pets to grow around, as it is not harmful either.
