HOW TO GROW NOBLE CELERY FROM SEEDS

Celery seeds need to be started indoors at least eight weeks before the last frost date in your area unless you live in a location where the growing seasons are long. Try mixing with sand and then sprinkle the sand-seed mix over the potting soil. Sprinkle a little soil over the seeds. Celery seeds should be planted shallowly once the celery seeds have sprouted and are large enough; either thin the seedlings or prick them out to their pots.

CARE AFTER GERMINATION OF NOBLE CELERY

The best time to plant celery in the garden is once the temperatures outside are consistently above 10 degrees Celsius. Remember that celery plants are susceptible to temperature, so don't plant them too soon, or they will die. For best results, plant your celery where it gets six hours of sun, yet preferably somewhere that will keep it shaded during the hottest part of the day. Also, make sure that where you will be growing celery has rich soil. Celery grows best in soil that is rich in nutrients. Plants need a lot of water to grow.

NOBLE CELERY USES AND HEALTH BENEFITS

Having celery leaves in hand, you need a plan for how to use them. The leaves still pack more celery punch than the stalks. You'll be surprised at how much flavor they have, but the tender texture makes them suitable to eat raw. These are great in salads or used as a garnish. As a 'superfood,' celery juice has attracted much attention, with supporters claiming that it can prevent inflammation, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. Celery is related to carrots.
